Confidentiality

The law protects the relationship between a client and a psychologist. Except in limited situations, I will never disclose information  without your specific written permission.

For your protection and the protection of others, the law requires disclosure of limited information in the following circumstances:

  • In the event of child  or elder abuse;
  • When someone is threatened with serious bodily harm;
  • When a client is in imminent danger of self harm;
  • In the event of a court order.

If these situations arise, I work with clients to assure that any required disclosure results in the most positive outcome possible for all involved.
